Cardinals Fall to Raritan Valley in Return to Action

In their return to action on Monday night, CCBC Catonsville's men's basketball team fell to Raritan Valley Community College 105-94.

While the Cardinals saw four players score in double-digits and one player record a double-double, they were held at bay by the Lions the entire night in their first match of the new semester.

The Cardinals trailed by as much as 20 during the first half but closed the gap in the second. Despite their best efforts, Catonsville would come up short as they were out-rebounded 47-39 by the Lions and were unable to drop the deficit below ten points.

Leading the way for the Cardinals on the night was sophomore guard Jo-Nathan Kelly (Strawberry Mansion) who recorded his first Cardinals double-double with 26 points and ten rebounds. Sophomore guard Murray Grant (Obra D. Thompkins) added 25 points, while freshman guard Micah Morgan (West Nottingham) added 13 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Sophomore guard Jamal Lee (Cristo Jesuit) came off the bench to add 11 points.

Next up for the Cardinals is a Region 20 showdown with Montgomery College on Wednesday, January 9.
