Cardinals Return to Winning Ways with Frederick Win

CCBC Catonsville's men's basketball team returned to the win column last Tuesday, defeating Frederick Community College 81-73.

In a close-fought battle, the Cardinals edged out Frederick thanks to a pair of clutch three-pointers and a near-perfect day from sophomore forward Albright Obode (Plainfield).

After a back-and-forth start, the Cardinals pulled into a lead they would never relinquish thanks to a layup from freshman guard Lance Porter (Randallstown). Frederick kept things close in the second half, despite a pair of threes from freshman guard Isaiah Thomas (Manchester) and sophomore guard Murray Grant (Obra D. Tomkins). With two minutes to go, freshman guard Micah Morgan (West Nottingham) iced the contest with a clutch layup and free throw.

Obode finished as the leading scorer with 21 points, shooting a near-perfect 10-11 from the floor. Grant scored 15 points, Thomas had 10, while sophomore guard Jo-Nathan Kelly (Strawberry Mansion) added nine points and five rebounds.
