FINAL: Catonsville 93 Cecil 90

The Cardinals went into the contest 7-1 looking to keep their hot start going. Nobody could have predicted the way this game ended!

The beginning of this game was a tight one, with neither team being able to pull away from the other. That is until about halfway through the first half the Cardinals got their offense going and took off to a 10 point lead off a Murray Grant three pointer. The Cardinals kept up the pressure getting their lead to a game high 13 point lead off a Lance Porter three pointer. However, Cecil wasn't going away without a fight and chipped at the lead until it got down to 8 leading into the second half.

The Cardinals and the Seahawks exchanged blow after blow, but eventually Cecil tied the game with just 5 minutes left in the game. Cecil then took the lead and held onto it the rest of the game, but Lance Porter hit a clutch layup in the final moments to send the game to overtime. The Cardinals then held a small lead for the rest of the game and won the game 93-90.

The Cardinals were led by a 30 point performance from sophmore guard Murray Grant (Obra D. Tomkins), while shooting 4-11 from beyond the arc. Freshman guard Lance Porter (Randallstown) put up a 23 point and 11 rebound double-double. Another bright spot for the Cardinals, was sophmore forward Albright Obode (Plainfield), scoring 20 points while going an efficent 8-11 from the field. Next up the Cardinals have CCBC Dundalk in a Baltimore County showdown.
