Cardinals End Season with OT Excitement

Catonsville, MD- Men's basketball ended their season Tuesday night with a game that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

The intensity, passion, and heart were not hard to miss. The team knew that this would be their last game together and they wanted to make it count. Despite the excitement of the contest, the Cardinals would lose their sixth-straight game- ending their season with a 5-21 record overall.

Catonsville would honor their three sophomores during the matchup- Andrew Stigger, Jordan Tucker, and Christian Evans for the hard work they have put in the last two seasons with the program.

Tuesday's matchup was nothing short of nerve-wracking. Catonsville and NOVA would be neck and neck for the entirety of the evening. NOVA had the 45-38 lead at the half- but Catonsville would keep on pushing.  John McNeal would lead the squad with 9 points in the first half. McNeal would continue this momentum as he led 13 points in the second half, and 6 in OT.

Although the Cardinals would outscore NOVA 39-32 in the second half, they would drop the game by just three in OT. Freshman Damon Moore gave the team a chance in the final seconds of the second half by draining a three-point shot, which would end regulation with a score of 77-77. Unfortunately, NOVA would pull through and take the win 90-87.

McNeal led the Cardinals in total points (28) and steals (4), Stigger led with the most three-points made (4), and Tucker led in total rebounds (7).

Despite the .192 win percentage the Cardinals posted this season, this matchup was a true success. Catonsville is already looking forward for what the next season has in store.
