Cardinal's drop a tough conference game.

Cardinal's drop a tough conference game.

On April 20th, the Cardinals baseball team took on Cecil College in a nine-inning game on the road. The Cardinals would lose 11-4.
After beating the seahawks 8-0 on the 18th, the Cardinals were looking to sweep Cecil College in their pursuit of Frederick Community College for the first seed in the region tournament. However, the Cardinals would suffer a crushing defeat, as their hopes of catching Cecil grow smaller.
The Cardinals would jump out to an early lead, thanks to a solo homerun from Jalen Williams (Western Technical High School) in the top of the first. Their lead would not last long, as the Seahawks would tie the game in the bottom of the first and take a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the second.
The Cardinals would run into more issues in the bottom of the third, as Cecil would score six runs to make it a 10-1 ballgame.
In the top of the fourth, a bases-loaded walk from Moises Aristy Jr. (Arundel High School) would score Miles Bowens (Tucker High School), making it a 10-2 ballgame. In the top of the fifth, the Cardinals would score two more runs, thanks to a wild pitch that scored Nick Stergiou (Broadneck High School) and an RBI single from Caleb Bailey (Old Mill High School) to make it a 10-4 ballgame.
However, the Cardinals would not score again, and the Seahawks would add to their lead late to make it an 11-4 game. That would be the final score as the Cardinals would drop their second game against Cecil College on the road.
The Cardinals offense was led by Jalen Williams, who went 2-4 with an RBI and a walk. Caleb Bailey went 2-3 with an RBI and a walk. Reliever Max Cutts (Olympia High School) would throw 5 1/3 innings, giving up only one run, striking out four while only walking two batters.
The Cardinals are now 26-16.
