Cardinal's fall short against the Catamounts

On April 23rd, the Cardinals took WVU Potomac State in a double header, losing game one 11-5.
Looking to bounce back from a road loss to Cecil College, the Cardinals started off strong against their interdivisional opponent. However, the Cardinals would drop game one 11-5.
The Cardinals would strike first in the second inning, thanks to a two RBI single from Quinn Waters (). The Cardinals would capitalize on an error by the Catamounts second baseman, to take a 3-0 lead after two innings.
The third inning would have some fireworks instore for spectators of game one. In the top of the third, the Catamounts centerfielder would hit a two-run homerun to make it a 3-2 game. However, in the bottom of the third, Miles Bowens () would hit a homerun of his own, rebuilding the Cardinals two-run lead 4-2.
The Cardinals would see their lead vanish in the top of the fourth as the Catamounts would continue to bring the game level 4-4. However, Miles Bowens would play hero again in the bottom of the fourth, drawing a bases-loaded walk to make it a 5-4 ballgame.
Unfortunately, that would be the end of the Cardinals scoring, as the Catamounts would go on to tie the game again in the fifth, and score six more runs in the last two innings. The Cardinals would drop game one 11-5 against the Catamounts.
The Cardinals offense was led by Miles Bowens, who went 2-3 with two RBI's and a walk. Quinn Waters went 2-4 with two RBI's. Starting pitcher Dylan Berndt () went 4 2/3 innings with three strikeouts in a no decision.
