2019 Baseball Schedule Release

Catonsville, MD- CCBC Catonsville Cardinals head baseball coach Dan Blue is proud to announce the schedule for the 2019 season! The team looks to build upon their run to the NJCAA Region semifinals after an injury-riddled season.

The season begins in Florida where the team will play seven games in six days, facing off against four different teams. The first Florida matchup takes place on February 16th where the Cardinals will take on Seminole State College of Florida in a double header. Next they’ll face Lake-Sumter on the 18th, followed by Central Florida State College on the 19th. The Cardinals will end their Florida stretch with a double header on the 21st and a game on the 22nd against Daytona State College.

Returning to Maryland, the Cardinals will host Sussex County for their home opener on March 1st at 2 pm giving the CCBC Catonsville campus its first taste of baseball for 2019. Sussex will stick around for a double header on March 2nd. From there, the Cardinals will travel to CCBC Essex on March 5th, before returning home for a home stand against CCBC Dundalk on the 7th, and a three-game series against Tompkins-Cortland with one game on the 9th and a double-header on the 10th. Continuing with their busy month, the Cardinals will travel to North East, MD where they’ll take on Cecil on March 12th before heading to Harford on the 14th. Returning home to host four straight games, the Cardinals will get the chance to square off against SUNY Orange on the 16th, Cayuga on the 17th, UConn on the 18th, and Hagerstown on the 21st, three of four being double headers. Then, the team will travel to face off against Frederick on the 24th. The team then will host Prince George’s on the 27th and CCBC Essex on the 28th to finish off their home matchups in March. The Cardinals will finish a busy month with a double header against Potomac State on the 30th.

The start of April signals the time where the team shifts their sights to the Region XX tournament, looking to build momentum as they aim to make their mark. The team will start out on the road for matchups against CCBC Dundalk on April 2nd and College of Southern Maryland for a double header on the 6th.  Catonsville will host Anne Arundel on April 9th, before heading back out on the road for a matchup against Prince George’s on the 11th. The Cardinals will return to Catonsville for a nice 13-game home stand. The home-stretch will begin on April 13th with a double header against Garrett, followed by another double header against Delaware Tech on the 14th. On the 16th, the Cardinals will host Harford, followed by Cecil on the 18th. From there, the team will square off for a pair of double headers against Montgomery College on the 20th and Allegany on the 23rd. The Cardinals will end their home stand with games against CC of Rhode Island on the 26th and 27th, followed by another game on the 27th against Potomac State. To end another busy month, the team will travel for an away double header against Chesapeake on April 30th.

To finish off the regular season, the team will host Bryant and Stratton College for a double header on May 1st, followed by another double header on May 4th at Camden County.

The Region XX tournament runs from May 10-12th, with the winner getting the opportunity to go the NJCAA Northeast District Championship on May 17-19 against District XIX. The 2019 NJCAA World Series will be held in Enid, Oklahoma from May 25-June 1st.
