Cardinals' Hoops Teams Begin Postseason at Maryland JUCO Tournament

WYE MILLS, MD -- CCBC Catonsville basketball teams begin the postseason portion of their schedules today, traveling across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, to Chesapeake College for the 2017 Maryland JUCO Conference Basketball Tournament.

Both Cardinal basketball programs have a lot to be proud of going into this tournament.

Women’s head coach T.J. Prioleau has qualified for the postseason in just his second year after resurrecting a program that had been retired since 2004. Prioleau’s team enters tournament play on Thursday with a 4 p.m. tip, as the No. 8 seed and will look to upset No. 1 seeded Harford Community College.

Men’s head coach Greate White brings his No. 2 seeded Cardinal team to the shore on Friday when they play No. 7 Montgomery College at noon. White believes that his team is prime and hungry to make a run.

The Cardinals are focused on whatever team is in front of them and have already defeated No. 1 seed Harford earlier this season as part of their 18-6 overall record (11-3 Maryland JUCO). Catonsville is looking for its first Maryland JUCO Tournament title since the 1996-97 season.

Women's Bracket

Play will begin Thursday at 12 noon as No. 2 Baltimore City takes on No. 7 Prince George's, followed by No. 3 Montgomery College vs. No. 6 Cecil College at 2:00 p.m.

The championship game is scheduled for Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
